Marni Becker-Avin was the Director of Professional Development and Client Service at Becker & Poliakoff, a 200 attorney, 400 employee Firm in the South East, for approximately 20 years. She is also an Attorney and acted as the in-house Trial Consultant. She provides Litigation Strategy services to trial attorneys and clients, in cases ranging from multi million dollar personal injury cases to employment discrimination cases, real estate transaction cases, complex construction cases, intellectual property cases, breach of contract cases, insurance disability cases, and many more. She graduated from the University of Miami School of Law with a JD and Nova Southeastern University with a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is a member of the Florida & DC Bars, has authored articles regarding the intricacies of jury selection and trial consulting and mediation, as well as a multitude of articles on Client Service in the legal industry, which were published in national publications. She has given seminars on these topics, has been quoted in books, and has taught many CLE Courses on these topics. In her “free” time, Marni enjoys working with her son, Adam, on the Wuf Shanti Children’s Wellness Foundation, their non-profit organization that teaches mindfulness techniques in schools and hospitals around the world to help young kids, tweens, and teens, cope with emotions and deal with stress. Both Marni and Adam are certified to teach mindfulness-based stress reduction.
Alan S. Becker is one of the Founding partners of Becker & Poliakoff, PA, and served as the Managing Shareholder for a time as well. Mr. Becker was a State Representative in the Florida Legislature. Florida Trend magazine has recognized Mr. Becker as a member of the “Legal Elite” every year since the award’s inception. He was also recognized by South Florida CEO Magazine as a member of South Florida’s “Power Elite”. Alan Becker is a member the Enterprise Florida Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He served as Vice-Chair (2015-2017) working collaboratively with Governor Rick Scott (the Chair). Enterprise Florida is the official economic development organization for the State of Florida. In 2012, he was awarded the Governor’s Business Ambassador Medallion by Governor Rick Scott for his contributions to economic development in Florida. He also previously served as the Chair of the Beacon Council (2011-12), Miami-Dade County’s economic development agency. Mr. Becker was the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic (1992- 2016). He is also the author of the book, “There’s Always Room at the Top”: The 8 Secrets of the Super Successful. Alan has taught the “Business of Law” at the University of Miami Law School, and “Leadership” at Keiser University. In his “free” time, he enjoys painting landscapes and watching his grandson play golf and change the world through his nonprofit children’s wellness foundation.
